C888-K9 cung cấp hiệu suất cần thiết cho các dịch vụ đồng thời, bao gồm tường lửa, ngăn chặn xâm nhập, lọc nội dung và mã hóa cho VPN và các tính năng Quality-of-Service (QoS) để tối ưu hóa các ứng dụng thoại và video. Ngoài ra, công cụ cấu hình Cisco Configuration Professional dựa trên web đơn giản hóa việc thiết lập và triển khai. Khả năng quản lý tập trung cung cấp cho người quản lý mạng khả năng hiển thị và kiểm soát các cấu hình mạng từ xa.
